0:03.0	How many times you've been talking to an atheist
0:06.4	or an evangelical or a Mormon or a Jehovah's Witness,
0:11.2	and they say to you,
0:13.0	well, the Bible says such and such.
0:17.5	And you, as a Catholic, know what they're saying is wrong,
0:22.4	but you don't know where to look in the Bible,
0:26.5	or you don't know the answer to a supposed scripture quotation
0:31.8	that they're throwing into your face.
0:35.5	Saint Jerome, as you may have heard,
0:37.8	said, ignorance of scripture is ignorance of Christ.
0:43.4	So if that's true to the extent that we know the Bible,
0:47.3	and we know scripture, to that extent will know Jesus Christ.
0:52.3	And sadly, we Catholics have a bad reputation

0:57.8	and that we don't read the Bible when in actuality,
1:01.1	the Bible belongs to the Catholic Church.
1:04.6	The Bible was written in the Catholic Church,
1:07.2	and the Bible was canonized in the Catholic Church,
1:09.5	and the Bible was preserved in the Catholic Church.
