It's being reported that Pope Benedict XVI is very ill.

He is on the New York Times and all the major newspapers. Pope Francis asked for prayers for very ill, Benedict XVI.

So what's going on? Well of course we need to lift up our prayers and I'll lead us into prayer as we get to the ends of today's show.

But I want to update you on what we do know about Pope Benedict XVI and his health. So Vatican City, the headquarters of the Roman Catholic Church, has announced that Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, his health has worsened due to his age and doctors are constantly monitoring the frail 95-year-olds condition.

This came out this morning earlier today in Rome. Keep in mind Pope Benedict XVI is 95 years old.

Vatican spokesman Mateo Bruni said Pope Francis, who asked the faithful earlier Wednesday to pray for Benedict, went to visit his predecessor in the monastery on Vatican grounds where the retired pontiff has lived since retiring in February 2013.
