I joined this morning with a legend in the pro-life movement, Father Frank Povone.

When I was a brand new Catholic, I was able to meet Father Frank Povone in Washington,

D.C. at the Catholic Information Center.

I was a brand new Catholic.

I'd been a Protestant and as a Protestant, even I knew back then who Father Frank Povone

is.

And as almost everybody knows now in the Catholic world, in the pro-life world, in all Christian

media and even in the secular media, Father Frank Povone has received through, will find

out, various means, a decree that he is to be dismissed from the priestly state.

So Father Frank Povone, our prayers are with you.

What's going on in your life?

What has happened in the past week?

Well, Taylor, first of all, thanks so much for having me.

And I know you've spoken about my situation in previous broadcasts over these recent days

and everybody appreciates that, especially here at our Priestly Life team.

What's happened over the past week is simply an extension of what's happened over the

past 21 years.

And the reason I say 21 years is that after I had led Priestly Life for about eight years

from 93 to a 2001, some of the bishops started to get pretty uncomfortable because we were

growing in size and influence.
