No guitar is safe sometime near the end of the last millennium on a sprawling ranch high atop a southern California mountain ridge overlooking the Pacific Ocean. A man finished

construction of a small, mysterious building near the edge of his property. If you had walked up to

that structure, you might have heard the hum of large motors whirring within the walls. Apparently,

this guy was scared. He was afraid. He was believing the hype. He knew the apocalypse was nigh. He knew that

the machines were going to fail, that when the calendars turned from 1999 to 2000, that all the

rumors of Y2K Armageddon were correct. There'd be no more electricity. He thought, I'll generate my own.

Apparently, this guy was probably generating enough

power in that room to power like the entire city of nearby Santa Barbara or something close.

Well, guess what? It's been nearly two decades since the calendars flipped to 2000 and the world,

in fact, did not end. And that man and his generators are long gone. But that does not mean

that there's not an amazing machine still between those walls operating.
