We've had some cars run into the bury wall, not paying attention, they were on their phone. Taxing, scrolling, yeah, that's bad. Most often they be on their phones or they're not paying attention, they can cause a crash. We could stand on the side of the road and watch every other vehicle looking down into their lap as they're passing us. You know what they're looking at. They're looking at their phone. Phones. On their phones, not paying attention.

Phones. I'm not a mathematician, but I say probably about 80% of the people who pass me

are on their telephones. No call, text, or video is worth putting yourself for a road worker

in danger. When driving through construction, Lyuna members ask you for your sake and hours. Slow down, stay off your phone, please. Be aware where we're at, where the cone zones are at. Stay off your phones and buckle up and drive safe. We're not asking for much. This is Brian Short, business manager for the Indiana Labor District Council. Everyone deserves a safe place to work. I do want to start in kind of a heavy place, I guess, a sadder place.

Yesterday, and this is a good thing, Texas found a young man guilty of murder that definitely killed somebody else.

I'm sort of shocked sometimes when I hear conversations that make no sense to me at all from people that wanted to describe this as anything other than what it was.

A 19-year-old now, 17 at the time, named Carmelo Anthony with a K, weird that it's spelled

or that it sounds similar to the NBA player, of course, not stabbed another young man,

a 17-year-old Austin Metcalf in Texas outside of Dallas and killed him.

Everybody that gave testimony in this trial said a bunch of the young people that they asked

to you know give their account of what happened said that it suddenly turned deadly that it

was an interaction where people were arguing and some people were telling this kid to leave a tent

that he wasn't supposed to be in at a track and field event.

And then eventually he killed someone.

But anyway, he was sentenced to 35 years in jail, which is actually less than I had expected.

But the thing that Fox News talked about and the thing that went viral were the comments from Austin Metcalf's father who lost his son. And I think they're pretty powerful.

It's not actually him saying it because the courtroom wasn't allowed to have cameras in it.
