I was wondering you being a veteran of news journalism, whether when something dreadful

like this happens, you feel that you are in any sense removed from it as a person

because you spend so much of your professional life dealing with it.

I can't really speak directly about this particularly dreadful incident because

obviously woman's hour isn't a news programme, but I do vividly recall 9-11 when I was

away on holiday I was remember that and it was a really to say it was challenging

who cares I was a broadcaster doing my job it happened to be probably the biggest

news event of my lifetime and I was okay when I was there it was when I went

home and I don't think that's uncommon I think it's when you are in the mix

when you're doing what you're paid to do and you're just carrying on you can cope.
