I'm Chanley Painter. After nearly 30 years on death row, Richard Glossop is finally walking free, but his freedom came with a price tag of $500,000 and a surprise cash injection from Kim Kardashian.

Glossop was arrested in 1997 for allegedly hiring a hotel maintenance man, Justin

Sneed, to murder their boss, Barry Van Trees.

Sneed confessed to the beating and took a plea deal, but Glossop maintained his innocence.

Yet he was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to death. Over the next three decades, Glossop survived nine execution dates and ate three separate last meals, coming within hours of lethal injection before a drug

mix-up halted the chamber.

The case garnered international attention due to destroyed survival evidence, allegations

of prosecutorial misconduct, and exclusive notes proving prosecutors knowingly allowed Sneed to lie on the witness stand about his psychiatric history.

In 2025, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Glossop's conviction, ruling his right to a fair trial, was violated.

But Oklahoma isn't backing down.

The Attorney General wants a third trial, keeping Glossop under house arrest while he fights for his final freedom.
