Israel's military now says Hamas is holding up to 240 hostages in the Gaza Strip.

Yesterday, the militant group released a video of three women

it's thought to be holding captive showing one of them begging Israel's Prime Minister

to secure their release. It's not clear whether they made the video under duress, and Benjamin

Netanyahu called it propaganda. Qatar and Egypt have taken the lead in trying to help negotiate the

release of everyone being held by Hamas, but progress fell through last week.

This comes as Netanyahu categorically refused to consider a ceasefire,

and the Israeli military has intensified attacks on the Gaza Strip.

Calls for a pause in the fighting are getting louder and louder,

and humanitarian groups say the situation in Gaza is getting even more desperate.
