Vice President Carmelah Harris has delivered her closing arguments to voters, appearing at the ellipse in Washington, D.C.

I will work every day to build consensus and reach compromise to get things done. She used the event to contrast herself with

former President Donald Trump. Meanwhile President Joe Biden is trying to

clean up comments he made at an event encouraging Latinos to vote.

The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters.

His demonization is unconscionable.

Biden was talking about comments made by a comedian at Trump's

Madison Square Garden event Sunday where the speaker called Puerto Rico a

floating island of garbage. The White House says Biden meant the comments from Trump supporters

were garbage, not Trump supporters themselves, but it's already getting a lot of

backlash from Republicans. And Trump seized on the gaff, comparing it to Hillary Clinton's comments in 2016.

Remember Hillary, she said deplorable, and then she said irredeemable, right? But she said deplorable,

that didn't work out garbage, I think is worse, right?
