Former President Donald Trump has the upper hand over President Joe Biden in two critical

battleground states, according to a new CNN poll this morning.

Despite Biden carrying Michigan and narrowly winning Georgia in 2020,

the survey conducted by SSRS shows voters in those states have shifted their opinions.

CNN political director David Challion digs deeper into the numbers.

We see a pretty clear advantage for Republicans on the enthusiasm factor.

So in Georgia, for example, 72% of the Republican leaning voters in the poll say they're extremely

motivated to vote in 2024. Only 59% of the Democrat and Democratic leaning independence say the same thing.

We see something similar in Michigan as well.

Nicky Haley and Ron DeSantis are in a tight race for the very distant second place.

But the former UN ambassador holds a wider lead

over Biden in these two states if the general election was held today.

The UN's General Assembly is set to resume its emergency session on the situation in Gaza tomorrow.

Last week, the U.S. Vito to UN Security Council resolution calling for humanitarian ceasefire,

leading to international criticism.
