Hello from CNN. I'm Joe Beck with the five things you need to know for Friday

September 13th. Our members rejected the contract by 94.6%.6%. After they rejected a deal last night, about 33,000 Boeing workers are now on strike.

The union turned down new contracts, which would have included raises and job security and one of its leaders John Holden explained why.

This is about respect, this is about addressing the past and this is about fighting for our future.

We asked CNN's Vanessa Yakavich to give us some context on what's happening.

Hi Joe, the Union said this was the best deal they could negotiate and Boeing said that this was a historic offer but 95% of union members rejected the deal and 96% voted to go on strike.

The deal would have given 25% 6% voted to go on strike.

The deal would have given 25% in pay wage increases,

guaranteed a new airplane to go into production

in Washington State, and a signing bonus.

This could have an economic impact the longer the strike

drags out. It would impact suppliers, deliveries of airplanes to airlines, and

Boeing says they alone generate 79 billion dollars in the US economy

and the company supports 1.6 million jobs directly and indirectly.

The will they won't they continues around another presidential debate.

Former President Donald Trump ruled it out last night at a rally in Arizona. It's too late anyway the voting's already begun.

While Vice President Carmelah Harris once again called for another debate at her

rally in North Carolina. I believe we owe it to the voters to have another debate.

Some people are doubting whether Trump's decision is final as he continues to describe Tuesday's

debate on ABC News as a success. Harris's team says she raised $47 million in the first 24 hours after the event.

Trump also spoke about some economic policy at his rally,

saying he'd push for legislation to end taxes on overtime pay if he wins a second term.
