Israeli officials say they won't be moving into Raffer imminently.

There had been widespread fears over Israel's plans, after they said previously that they

would enter the border city if hostages weren't released by the start of Ramadan today.

One and a half million people are taking refuge in the city after escaping the

bombardment in the rest of Gaza and the US has warned Israel that entering

Rafa is a quote red line. But just yesterday Israel's Prime Minister reiterated that he

is planning to send forces into the city while Israeli officials say they haven't

finalized plans for a civilian evacuation which is expected to take at least two weeks.

This comes as President Joe Biden told MS NBC over the weekend that the U.S. would not pull support

from Israel, but that its Prime Minister Benjamin Nethany Benjamin Netanyahu needs to do more to protect civilians.

There had also been hope that Ramadan could bring a ceasefire agreements, but talks with Hamas have stalled.
