We all have them temptation traps.

It's like the one thing that trips you up,

even though you promise yourself this time,

I am not going to fall into that trap.

This time I'm not going to sin.

And yet, time and time again, that trap just seems to snap shut.

Oh, friend, God has given us divine power to demolish strongholds and to overcome those temptation traps through the power of his spirit.

Welcome to the prayers of rest podcast. I am your host, Ashterita, in this season, we are praying

through spiritual strongholds, and today, you know it. We are going to break free from those

temptation traps through the power of God's spirit.

So take a deep breath and quiet your heart as we become aware of God's loving presence around us and within us.

Today's passage comes from 1 Corinthians 10, verse 13.

No temptation has overtaken you,

except what is common to mankind, and God is faithful.

He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear,

but when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

Let's begin by reciting God's goodness. Oh Heavenly Father, you are such a good and loving God.

And you are not just some distant, abstract reality that has no tangential interaction with our day-to-day lives.

No, you are our fortress. You are our stronghold.

You are our deliver. You are our shield in whom we can take refuge. Because you, Lord Jesus,

have come and through your life and your death and your resurrection, you have crushed the enemy under your feet.

And so we praise you, Jesus, that victory is already yours.
