Welcome to Star Talk Radio, I'm your host, Neil deGrasse Tyson.

For this episode of Star Talk Radio, we're going to commemorate the events of 10 years

ago, September 11th, 2001.

Then and now I live three and a half blocks from what would later be known as Ground Zero.

I was home that morning and the entire series of events unfolded outside my dining room

window.

I'm not going to go through those details here or now, but you can find them, they're

You'll see photos, you'll get my first hand account of my effort to escape lower Manhattan

with my family.

Like I said, I don't want to retell that now.

What I'd rather do is try to measure the magnitude of the events of that morning.

Consider, for example, that one of the buildings of the World Trade Center Complex, World

Trade Center 7, is 47 stories.

After that morning, it would catch fire, and that afternoon it would collapse.

Most people haven't even heard of this event.
