Yeah, I remember what it was like to be a program of stature, a program that's dominant,

a program that has elite athletes, a program that is moving in the right direction, a program

that is capable of lopsided victory on days in which there are stretches of play that

are a little left to be desired.

Yeah, I remember what it's like to try to frame that, to try to talk about that.

Understanding that if you beat somebody 66 to 13, you ought not lead with what's bothering

you.

You ought not lead with yeah, but but I don't remember having to do that because we always

graded against the curve of championship level football, winning a national championship,

striving to be the best team in the country.

Now when it's not realistic, you can't do that.

And it's unrealistic when you just got a team that isn't that good.

You can't do that.

You can't nitpick.

You got to take your wins and you got to embrace those wins and you go along for the ride

and you talk about the climb and you get into the aspects of what it means to win and what

that could do for you.

And if that and maybe this bowl and all those things, but at some point, you get beyond

that.

You get to a place where you start looking at aspects of a really elite football team.

And we understand as grownups, the conversation is born from that, right?
