Vice President J.D. Vance in Israel overseeing the establishment of a civilian military cooperation center.

200 American troops are serving at this new cooperation center.

Vice President J.D. Vance said work is underway to retrieve all of the

hostage bodies still in Gaza and that they still expect Hamas to disarm.

Hamas, while all the fighters can be given some sort of clemency, they're not going to be

able to kill each other and they're not going to be able to kill their fellow Palestinians.

He says the eventual goal is to ensure there are security forces not composed of Americans

who can oversee maintaining peace in Gaza.

I think once we've got to a point where both the Gazans and our Israeli friends can have some measure of security,

then we'll worry about what the long-term governance of Gaza is.

But he said for now the focus is on rebuilding and safety.

This is Hamas has handed over the remains of two more hostages to the

Red Cross in Gaza. Israel's releasing 15 Palestinian bodies for the remains of each hostage.

The government shutdown is now in its 21st day and no sign of any agreement between Republicans

and Democrats. The decisions made or not in the next 10 days will determine whether working families can afford

their health care next year.
