Her latest novel The Shining Girls, about a time-traffling serial killer,

has been optioned for TV by Leonardo DiCaprio's production company Appian Way.

All right, so your new book is called The Shining Girls. So what's that about?

Well, it's about a time-travelling serial killer who is absolutely impossible to stop until one of his victims

survives and turns the hunt around. It's said in Chicago between 1931 and 1993 and I

specifically cut it off from 1993 so I could avoid the internet and

Reddit and CCTV cameras and Google Earth and everything else which would basically
