She was returned full-time to her doting mother and beloved little sister.

After this, the next year of Jersey's life was happy and carefree. But all that would change

when a predator was closer than anyone could imagine. A predator who would brutally cut short

this beautiful little girl's life.

This is Jersey's story.

It's a face most of us will never forget.

Six-year-old Jersey Bridgman was reported missing on November 20th.

She was found dead that same day, just two doors down from her home.

In addition to family and friends, school officials were at a loss trying to figure out how

they would break the news to Jersey's classmates.

What we're going to tell them is that they did lose a classmate and the classmate died.

Some of the students required counseling.

These were kids that rode the bus with Jersey or lived in the neighborhood with her.

And that neighborhood would never be the same.

It's hard to look at her and hold her, but at the same time I'm thankful that I can because,

you know, Jersey's up in heaven saying thank you for taking care of my puppy.
