like a BBC left wing woke brigade feminazi. I haven't called a lot of things. And then they feel

really agitated when they find out Jeff and I are friends. There's a real incongruity there.

There's a real incongruousness. They go, how it, what? No, but we thought we knew everything and you don't deviate from who you are. But here I am, Jeff. Thank you so much for this opportunity. Well, our friendship, it does cross boundaries. It's a bit like a sort of a non-romantic Montague Capulet thing, I'd like to think.

Well, I'm glad to know that you don't find it romantic because I really thought that we're cooking something up here.

I'd like to say I was trying to piss off my dad, but he'd be thrilled because he's like you.

Well, I mean, that's the thing. I do right with dads, you know, most normal people outside the social. I do okay with them. But unfortunately, they're not always the kind of people that are on social media. So you could get your dad on Twitter. That would be good. Do you know what? I've learned about social media. And my husband, as you know, my current husband, Bobby. And, you know, I think that when we first met, we both had ideas that each of us was less centrist than we actually are. And then he has opened my eyes to a lot of the things that you have too. And I love that your

book is suitably called How the Left Lost Me, because, do I say it right? Is that a good?

No, that is it. I think in me, I'm blaming the left. I'm a victim blaming. That's the first,

that's the first thing in the right wing playbook, know yeah but i mean i think that what we grew up

with uh as being liberal or being woke or whatever that has really changed and

social media now it feels like on all sides is just about getting whipped up and getting

angry no matter which side you're on. Yeah, I think that's one

of things where I'll speak to a lot of people on the liberal left is like there's the conversations

that you have publicly and then a lot of people reach out in person. They're like, this is moving

very fast. I think there's that thing in politics is called the Overton window, right? What's

considered the centre ground but I think

culturally that's moved so quick that eventually people like oh that's nipping at my heels now

you know it's now old phrase asked not for whom the bell tolls and suddenly it's tolling for all

of us I don't know if you saw that thing earlier on huffington post was about all those comedians
