I just wanted to open up the show with a bit of an American culpa.

It feels like forever, but it's really only been a minute

since Chelsea drew Salzburg at home.

And in the aftermath of that game, I put out a tweet

about how I thought that result and just the general style of play

impacted my view of the expectations for the season.

I won't reread that tweet because I think I would defeat

the purpose of this, but it was in the heat of the moment.

I was frustrated. I know I wasn't the only one,

but that tweet was misguided for a couple of reasons.

One, it was reactionary.

It was an incredibly emotional week inside of an incredibly

emotional year for Chelsea supporters.

And it didn't, despite my efforts in the tweet,

have the sufficient context to explain why I felt the way that I did.

I just put it out there. It seemed really reactionary.

And then I let it be.

I got a ton of engagement on the tweet, which wasn't the point.

I was just mainly trying to voice my thoughts.
