Welcome to Syntax. Today, we're going to be talking about infrastructure as code and

0:06.2

AWS Cloudflare, these types of things with something called SST. We had Dax Rad on the show

0:12.8

a little while ago to talk about SST and some of the things he's been up to, but I hadn't gotten my

0:17.7

hands dirty with it until now. And I've been deploying things on AWS with

0:23.5

SST. And let me tell you, it makes it way easier than ever having to deal with AWS services.

0:30.3

In fact, when I press deploy on what I'm working with, it modifies like 30 different things

0:37.0

in AWS.

0:38.2

And I don't have to know what those things are.

0:39.8

1:08.4

Probably like two years ago just when this thing was just kicking off.

1:11.7

And it seems like it is so much more mature and like obviously very usable right now.

1:19.2

And this is awesome because like a lot of people do want to be able to deploy to something like

1:24.7

AWS, but it's just not worth the pain of having to do that

1:30.9

type of thing. So like SST is, correct me if I'm wrong, but this is a way to configure your

1:39.5

deployment architecture with code. So this is not something you build an app with,

1:44.7

but it's a way to put all the pieces together,

1:48.1

which is like servers and image storage and all that stuff.
