Summary

Dr. Greg Bottaro, Executive Director of the CatholicPsych Institute, is back to talk to Leah about some timeless truths that the COVID-19 pandemic is unearthing for a lot of us.

Dr. Greg and Leah start by asking "How will you be different after this time?", which is a great question for us all to be asking. Dr. Greg points out that nothing is more revealing about what's inside us than a shake-up in our worlds, and this is a moment where the whole world is being shaken up.

This is a time to be challenged and learn about ourselves, and finding ways to grow in virtue.

This is a time to look at how we approach the concept of death - in fear and anxiety, or to remember that we have a God who has defeated death!

Challenge from Dr. Greg: Take 10 minutes to do absolutely nothing. Not prayer, not listening to music, not talking to anyone, (it's ok if you go for a walk)... but do nothing.

Don't forget to order a copy of Dr. Greg's book, The Mindful Catholic for yourself, and one for someone else! It's that good.

I think it just shows, and maybe a more obvious way that we've been living

0:32.0

that we are really in denial of human suffering maybe.

0:37.0

Like we've, the amount of people that have lost their lives at least here in the United States to COVID-19

0:48.6

It's horrific. I know but it's nowhere near the loss of babies being aborted.

0:54.0

And I'm not, and of course not trying to like, you know, do a red herring or like trying to like push the attention off of something else,

1:01.0

but like in general there have there's been human

1:04.8

suffering and there's been deaths every single day going on prior to this point. But

1:11.1

I guess it's you know I don't when, when I guess COVID-19's may be different because like anybody could get it versus some of these, I don't know, other, I just, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know so much about the health pieces as much as I see the

1:24.3

reaction to this versus the reaction to other things that you know end life and I'm

1:31.0

like what like are we are are we gonna wake up and say okay is is all life

1:37.5

valuable or is it still just you where you're at in your city when the

1:41.9

pandemic is closer to you versus somebody else who's not taking it seriously.

1:46.1

You know, I don't know. Right. Yeah, yeah, like abortion is just this like peripheral thing but like if you can't get toilet paper

1:54.7

and it was on prime right now now we have to now we have to take a stand

2:00.0

like now it's something to get crazy about. Now we need to, you know, rush the capital and protest, right?

2:07.1

Because because of this and not that some of those protests don't have merit,
