1st Timothy chapter 6 verse 11

but as for you oh man of God, flee these things.

Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love,

steadfastness, gentleness.

What a great clear verse to pray.

Like, flee these things, Paul says, and he's just spent right before this in the nine or so

verses before First Amendment 6, 11, he talks about fleeing controversy,

quarrels over different doctrines and different teaching that produce envy and

dissension and slander and suspicions and friction among people.

Then he talks specifically about fleeing

and the possessions of this world and the love of money he says right

before this verse in 1st timb of the 610 the love of money is the root of all kinds of

evil so he says flee all these things and pursue these other things instead.

And he lists six words, righteousness, godliness,

faith, love, steadfastness, and gentleness.

So let's just pray this over each other, over our lives.

God, we pray that you'd help us to flee. False teaching would help us to hold fast to the truth. Help

us to flee controversy and conceit.

God help us to flee temptation toward envy,

toward dissension, towards slander.

God help us to speak honorably about people.
