Although she was new to the industries, Shay would quickly find ways to stand out by creating and implementing systems that would help her then employers operations run smoother and more efficiently. Her skillset would always have a positive financial impact on her employer’s bottom line, however, Shay was not always recognized for her efforts and talent. This underappreciation along with the constraints of the 9-5 would lead Shay to the realization that entrepreneurship would be the best way to fulfill her desire to win and also have the control over her life that she wanted. As a result, Allegiant Logistics was born. After tons of hard work and research, Shay, along with a partner decided to start their freight brokerage which focused on a unique niche in the aerospace and manufacturing industry, moving commodities such as airplane parts and machinery. Along with growing their company, Shay and her team plan to create pathways for other women to participate in these types of niche industries where they are normally not accepted and extremely underrepresented.
