The protestors versus the government and the technocratic elite, there's a very strong

class dimension here.

And they disdain the spawn that they abhorred on these people.

I couldn't believe it, and I originally come from India, where class and caste are very

much part of society there and here behind the veneer of liberalism and equality and tolerance

when so some of the most classist people in Canada, and it was common to derive them as

these people, you know, it was just awful to experience that.

and she's done what few other commentators did. She spoke to the protesters and tried to understand

their cause. So, Rupert, your commentary and reporting on the trucker's protest in Ottawa has

been essential reading, especially for those of us outside of Canada who are really trying to get

a handle on what that protest was about, why they did what they did, and also trying to cut through

a lot of the mainstream coverage, including in supposedly progressive publications, which tended
