First of all, I want to reach out to my friends, family, loved ones in California and hope that they are making it through this awful, awful period of time.

I know the physical, the mental loss has been tremendous. The financial loss is almost incalculable.

You guys are some of the toughest people in the country.

Now, the good news is at least Merrick Garland managed to get that out before he was forced to

leave office. The bad news is this is a reminder of the sheer incompetence, the naivete, the stupidity that it took

to allow Donald Trump to evade prosecution for four years and then be able to return to the

White House. Because Merrick Arlen spent over a year, as he said, investigating from the bottom up, starting with the people who were actually there on the mall and who went to the Capitol.
