I can't believe there are people saying they're not going to watch these debates. I mean, I get it if you don't like politics.

device of the mind, convince themselves that politics either matter or, the politics matter enough

to care about. Not necessarily saying that you have some sort of opinion about like the

efficacy of the political system, but you care enough about it to pay attention to it,

to say the way that somebody cares enough about a sports team to root for them.
