the inquiry sits. Today the inquiry heard how the last person to leave the tower, Elpido Bonifacio,

who was registered as blind, wasn't rescued until after 8am. Before we hear more about that, Marcio Gomez gave

evidence today. He lived on the 21st floor. Marcia Gomez lived in flat 183 with his wife, Andrea,

Perestrello, and their two children. Andrea was seven months pregnant. Lead counsel to the inquiry,

Richard Millett, began by asking Marcia Gomez

about changes made to the building during the refurbishment. Floor numbers had changed. The 21st

floor used to be the 18th, but Marcia Gomez said floor numbers weren't updated. Although the number

of the floor itself changed, is this right, from 18 to 21?

The number written on the stairwell did not.

Yeah, it was still 18.

It hadn't changed, yeah.

Or at least for the, I hadn't noticed the change for the last few months leading to that night.

Well, I was going to say, did you actually notice that it had stayed the same?

I used to use the stairs.

I used to run up the stairs after football.

So, yes, it hadn't changed.

Some floors had changed.

They were stents still in, but I assumed that was done by residents or somebody else, because they weren't all

the same. And there was one time where I went onto the 18th floor, because I think the 18th floor

was changed by a stencil and I went into the wrong floor. Marcia Gomez was part of a group of
