when the clashes took place on the border because it wasn't Nagorno-Karabakh

right? This was Armenia versus Azerbaijan proper. Well basically on Sunday, July 12th, the Azerbaijani's

launched a very limited campaign designed to take control of a hilltop that is fairly strategic in terms of

overlooking roads on the Azerbaijani side.

Basically, it caught us all off guard in terms of those observing the situation

because what happened was the initial assault was a little bit half-hearted,

but quickly escalated and it was more based on misperception and

miscalculation than any professional military logic and then it lasted for a good

four to five days where they attempted two more assaults trying to at least take control of this hilltop.
