On this episode, a review of Princess Cruises, Regal Princess, that ship that was out of surface for quite a while over in Texas because of some issues with a generator and what have you. So we'll have that coming up. And as always, we'll check in with staff writer Richard Sims with this week's cruise news. First, hey, Richard. Hey, Doug. Happy New Year. Happy New Year, bud. So we start here with some sad news that was shared earlier this week by one of the most recognized people in the cruise industry, Captain Kate McHugh of Celebrity Cruises. You know, I've sailed on a lot of ships, and I don't think I could tell you the name of

any of their captains.

But like a lot of other cruise lovers, I'm a huge fan of Captain Kate, despite having

never sailed with the woman or on any of the ships.

The only celebrity ship I've ever sailed is Celebrity Summit.

But she became really wildly popular since taking over the helm of Celebrity Beyond.

Thanks to her huge social media following, it's not just Captain Kate who has become popular.

You know, she does a daily diary telling you about her adventures on the ship, and she's a mermaid,

and she does lots of videos where she takes her mermaid tails and goes swimming and stuff,

so she became incredibly, incredibly popular.

And like I said, she's probably the best known captain outside of Captain Stubing, who wasn't

real, it turns out.

But also, her cat became very famous.
