Summary

Continuing our series on the Doctrine of Christ (Snuffer) Movement, we interview Matthew Lohmeier. Matt converted to the Mormon church at age 14. He served a mission in Taiwan, attended the U.S. Air Force Academy, flew F15s, and married Sara McConkie Lohmeier, granddaughter to Mormon apostle Bruce R. McConkie. Both Matthew and Sara have joined the Denver Snuffer movement and were excommunicated from the Mormon church in July 2015. This interview discusses their journey, their excommunication, their interactions with the McConkie family, and the state of the Snuffer movement.

I didn't care if they were Mormon or not. I wanted to hear about people who had met Christ.

1:06.0

I had come to a point in my life where I believed that even Muslims were having encounters with Christ and converting to Christianity and it had nothing to do with the L.A. Church.

1:16.0

So I was googling and I was brought to an Amazon book called How to Make Your Calling in Election Sure by a couple. I think their last name was Clawson.

1:26.0

It was a little skinny white book and when I saw it, now remember, as you called it rebellion, as rebellious as I was being, I'm very active in the church.

1:38.0

I've been commissioned by my reading of Joseph Felix Smith and Bruce Armaconky at this point and I'm very careful and I'm very deliberate.

1:47.0

So I see a book like Making Your Calling in Election Sure and my first thought is if you're talking about it, you don't know what you're talking about.

1:54.0

If you do know what you're talking about, you're not going to write a book about it.

1:58.0

I'd been conditioned to think that way but I still had to buy the book.

2:02.0

And so I bought the Clawson book and as I bought the Clawson book, there was one of those recommendations that shows up at the bottom of the screen and it says,

2:11.0

if those who read or liked this book would also like this book and it had Denver Snuffers book, the second comforter.

2:17.0

And I'm reading the description of that and it's like 400-something pages and I have holy smokes.

2:21.0

How do you write a book about this topic that's that many pages?

2:26.0

I know what's going to be in these books. I know it's going to be a recycle,

2:34.0

I know that he reads, you know, Rents repeat Bruce Maconkey, just to smiths teachings as they show up and teachings.

2:40.0

I know they're going to quote from Roy Doxie and talk that he gave in general conference. I'm familiar with all the material.

2:46.0

So I order both books and I get both books and the first book that I decide to read is the skinnier of the two by the Clawson's.
