The opposite of this fountain of life is to listen to fools spouting their folly, which means those who dare to use human reason to judge of divine matters.

St. John Christop famously said,

there's nothing worse than that man should measure and judge of divine things by human

reasonings.

The Word of the Lord endures forever is a daily verse-by-verse Bible study with the

church, past and present.

Pastor Whedon is leading us in a study of the book of Proverbs, chapters 11 through 20.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit,

Greetings, people, love by God.

So remember that in our last study, we sort of started and ended exactly where the previous section had. It started out with another thought about how we can have plans, but it's the Lord who decides where our steps end up taking us. And likewise at the end, we heard about how wisdom and understanding outranked gold and silver, but likewise how wisdom is actually more precious than understanding for wisdom is just another name for Christ, as didimus the blind reminded us.

Then we were confronted with the problem of a number of proverbs about kings and how, well, they just don't seem to ring true overall that was until we

remembered to hear them as applying to the real king to jesus christ the king of kings and lord of lords

and on his lips there were indeed oracles from God, and he never opened his mouth to judge
