Hello and welcome to Mac Power Users. My name is Stephen Robles and joined by my friend and yours, David Sparks. How's it going, David? It's going great, Stephen. You're getting used to saying that? Welcome to Mac Power Users. I know. I think that's maybe the first time I did the intro intro. So yeah, I was sure I got it right. Again, so much positive feedback. In fact, we kind of blew up a little bit on social media in our little nerd circle this week, didn't we?

We did.

So on last week's episode, we were talking about our menu bar apps and backups came into play.

And I shared a little clip where you sounded like a mob boss and you said, you have a beautiful family.

It'd be ashamed of something happened to them. it'd be a shame if something happened to them.

And you meant a shame as something happened to their photos.

But I shared this clip everywhere.

And lots of people were like, Stephen, you have to back up your stuff.

And so I'm going to figure it out.

But I do want to mention Cliff 538 on Mastodon actually linked this app called Parachute Backup, which is a Mac app and also on iOS,

but it will back up your entire ICloud drive contents to a NAS or something else.

And so I think I might try that first.

I don't know if that meets your, if that meets your requirements.

That's better than nothing.

You know, it's funny because I'm getting used to the fact that we look into a camera and we do the show now.

And when I watch that clip, you could just see my face at the moment.

You say, no back up.

And it was very judging.

Oh, no, but, well, everybody understood, you know, and I, I really should back up my stuff. But. Yeah, you should. You really should. Yeah, yeah. But speaking of video, too, we wanted to mention. So we had lots of requests saying they like seeing David's reactions to my backup failures and everything else. And so we want to give the video to more power users members who support the show.

And so what we'll do going forward is we'll make a version that's private.
