So in the Bhagavad Gita we are studying chapter 6. This chapter is on meditation. We were on

verse number 23. And in the last few verses, Sri Krishna has given us certain valuable insights.

These are profound, each of them are profound insights into Vedantanth and into Vedantic meditation.

What are these? I will quickly recapitulate. It will set the stage for today's class.

So verse number 20. What are these insights which Krishna just, he just told us.

In verse number 20, Sri Krishna said, Yattra uparamata, Chittam, niruddham yoga seva. So one of the characteristics of Vedantic meditation is Chittata Nirodha, it is the cessation of mental activity or the cessation of the modifications of the mind.

So this is classic Patanjali yoga. In Patanjali yoga, the practice is to is
