Welcome to the Allie on the Run show. I'm your host, Allie Feller, and this is where I talk

with people who are doing exciting things on the run and beyond. From professional athletes and

So whether you've been running towards something big or away from something that's been holding

Though, as I keep saying, you're the ones holding my hand and helping me keep some kind of pace

right now. I am not so fresh off my fourth round of chemotherapy for my

stage four breast cancer diagnosis. I am so tired. It is 2 p.m. the day after chemo. I'm still in

my pajamas. On the first day after chemo last round, I felt amazing. So it's a little discouraging

that I feel decidedly not amazing today, but I'm learning

to take each day as it comes and to roll with it. I had really high hopes of going out for a

nice walk today, getting outside. Instead, I have been rotting on my couch all day. I'll tell you,

chemo is no joke. My support person this time was my friend Emily Halen. Emily sweats, one of the OG running

bloggers, which is how we met. She's an ultra runner and she's the author of To the Gorge, her memoir.

Emily has been on the show so many times now, but this conversation is all about her role as a

support squad member. Emily took me to my very first round of chemo

back in 2023 and to have her back here all the way from Eugene, Oregon was so comforting for me.
