0:44.0	And I guess we go back to the Victorian era
0:48.0	when telling ghost stories at Christmas really became a huge deal.
0:53.0	Of course, we're all familiar with Charles Dickens' novella,
0:57.0	Christmas Carol in published in 1843.
1:01.0	But even before Ebenezer Scrooge and Charles Dickens,
1:05.0	people would gather around the fire in the Victorian era
1:09.0	and tell ghost stories.
1:11.0	For one thing, it wasn't much else to do with no electricity once it got dark.
1:16.0	The other great thing was you didn't have to be particularly literate
1:19.0	to tell a ghost story about the local ghost,
1:22.0	and of course, once the Industrial Revolution got going
1:26.0	printing press, then all of a sudden ghost stories at Christmas
1:32.0	just really took off.
1:34.0	And we're going to continue with that tradition, Jim Herald,
