Hebrews chapter 10, verse 12.

But when Christ had offered, for all time, a single sacrifice for sins,

he sat down at the right hand of God.

Oh, I love this picture. Like, just think about it. Okay, Old Testament,

you have priests who would go into the Holy of Holies. Like, think the day of Atonement, when the high priest would go into the Holy of Holies to offer a

sacrifice for sin, and he would go in and trembling with fear and trepidation, like they would tie

a rope to his ankle. He would have bells on his garments so that he was walking around. You could hear

that he was still alive, like still moving. And if he was struck down in the presence of God,

so the sound of the bells stopped, then they have a rope they can pull him out with. Like,

imagine being that high priest. Like, you are strapping this rope to your ankle, knowing it's a

possibility you're about to be struck down and pulled out dead.

And you're going in with bells on, you're just hoping to keep moving around.

Like, because you are going to the presence of a holy God to offer sacrifice for sins.

So you don't hang around in there longer than you need to.

Like, you go in there, you do what you are supposed to do, and then you get out alive.

But that's not the picture we see in Hebrews chapter 10, verse 12, when Christ, so now with that

background, read this verse again, when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice

for sins, what did he do? He sat down

at the right hand of God. Sat down. Like the high priest didn't sit down in the presence of God,

but Jesus, our high priest, has. Jesus has gone to the cross, paid the price for

all of our sins. He offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins. And then what did he cry out
