Hebrews chapter 8 verse 12

for I will be merciful toward their iniquities,

and I will remember their sins no more.

I just want to encourage you to meditate on this verse, to soak in this verse, to let it soak into your heart. This is in the middle of the author of Hebrews under the

inspiration of the Holy Spirit just talking about what Jesus has done on the cross for us, what he has made possible for us, and this is a quotation, this is God

speaking from the Old Testament in a way that is all the more true through Christ. Christ is the fulfillment of

God's promises and God says, I will be merciful toward their iniquities.

Make it personal.

Through trust in Jesus, through faith in Jesus, God says to you, I will be merciful toward your

iniquities, and I will remember your sins no more.

Oh, don't you want to let that soak in?

Let you think about all your sins? Well here's the challenge you're thinking

about them God himself chooses not to remember them. Like God the omniscient king of creation, the one who knows all

things so it's not like he has amnesia, but the beauty of what the Bible is teaching here is that

God who knows all of your sins, my sins, more than even we do, like I don't even know all the ways I've sinned against God.

The gravity of those sins against God?

Like I've confessed my sin to God,

but I don't even know the breath and the depth and the

seriousness of what that means because I still don't understand the depth and

breadth of His holiness and what it means for me to sin against him.

Like I have an idea of that, but I know I don't even grasp the reality of it, but God does.
