Today's episode is about the murder of a teen aged married couple, Adam and Samantha Christmas.

They met in high school. Adam was 17 and Samantha was 16 when they were murdered.

Why did they marry so young and why were they murdered?

Online speculation, I saw, was a quote the local police gave to the press alleging that the couple were involved in a cocaine for sex scheme, with the man eventually convicted for their murders.

The sensationalism of this case is due to the manner in which their bodies were found. We will get to that.

But no one ever gets to the why. I can try. I can speculate. But in the end, I'm not sure I'll get much further than the courts did.

The man who murdered the teen aged married couple, Howard Hawk Willis, was 51 years old at the time. And he has been called a serial killer, though he has only ever been charged for Adam and Samantha's deaths.

The nis member body of his stepfather was found not long after Adam and Samantha's bodies were found. And Howard's first wife is officially missing.

You can find her profile on the Charlie project and the Dough Network. She is presumed dead and hopefully one of these organizations will identify her body.

Until then, she has yet another mystery tied to Howard Hawk Willis.

The mystery goes deeper. Two accomplices were charged in Adam and Samantha's murders. They were Howard's mother and aunt.

Usually, at this point in the episode, I give you a background of the town or county where the murders took place. It's difficult in this case.

Basic reporting is that Adam and Samantha Christmas were from Walker County, Georgia. That much I'm sure of. Other news reports called them residents of Chikamaga, Georgia. And they met in high school in Rossville, Georgia.

I guess is that their families lived outside of town lines. And that's why the teens went to Ridgeland High in Rossville, rather than Gordon Lee High School, located in Chikamaga.

Their bodies were found in Johnson City, Tennessee, some three hours away. It's believed they were murdered there as well.

The couple also spent time in Chattanooga, Tennessee, which is only about 10 minutes from Rossville. Are you confused yet?

It all makes a bit more sense when you realize that Walker County, including Rossville and Chikamaga, are part of what's called the Chattanooga, Tennessee, Georgia, Metropolitan Statistical Area. That's a mouthful.

It's comprised of three counties of Southeast Tennessee and three counties of Northwest Georgia, anchored by the major city of Chattanooga, the largest city in the area.

The rest of the towns are rural. Both Rossville and Chikamaga have a population around or under 4,000 people. Rossville is right on the border of Tennessee and Georgia, with Chikamaga lying 17 miles south.
