As I've grown older and yes I know I'm not that old.

But there's one thing that I've really focused on from just a character and personality

perspective, it's an attempt to be as compassionate as I possibly can be.

In every situation, maybe aside from when someone's irresponsibly trolling me on Twitter,

I try to take a step back and wonder what it's like to be in that person's shoes.

Because I don't know.

You know I don't know what it's like to be a person of color in this country.

I don't know what it's like to be a woman.

I don't know what it's like to be a professional athlete.

And I certainly don't know what it's like to be a professional athlete who's also an

addict.

The fortunate side to sports is that a lot of fans think that athletes are not humans.

And it's not because of the freaky things they can do on the field or on a court.

People don't treat athletes as humans because athletes don't live the typical human life.

Professional athletes who play major sports make a lot of money and as a result there's

this dehumanization that occurs.

People feel like athletes can't have struggles because they've got money.
