Hey, everybody. We got a great one today. This past Wednesday, we did our first taping of the podcast in front of a live audience at the city winery in New York City as kind of a midterm preview. And also, of first, we had two guests who knew what the hell they were talking about.

They also have nothing they want to do to actually address any of the problems that they talk about,

whether it's inflation or crime or improving the quality of life for Americans. What they do

want to do, they want to make cuts to Social Security and Medicare. Senator Rick Scott,

Florida, he was the chairman of the Senate Republican's campaign arm, has proposed subjecting

nearly all federal spending programs to a renewal vote every five years. That includes

Social Security and Medicare. Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson wants him to come up for a vote every year.

Both Kevin McCarthy, the House Republican leader, and Steve Scalise, his second in command in the caucus,

both have said that Social Security and Medicare cuts will be on the table if they take the house.

And they have said they'd be willing to hold the debt ceiling hostage,

which could throw the whole world economy into a tailspin.

And of course, paired with that, they want to pass a tax cut

was president for four years. The first two years, he had a Republican Congress. He couldn't pass an infrastructure
