if you want them to tell you the truth, you have to earn their trust and keep it. How I responded to

what they were saying was how I was building trust for what they would want to tell me about their

lives in the future. I want my kids to tell me the truth. And in order for them to tell me the truth, I can't judge what

their truth is. I want to be someone that they come to for advice. I want to be their confidant.

I want to help them figure the stuff out in their life. And if they're lying to me or not telling

me the truth because they're worried about how I'm going to respond,

I just feel like they're, who's going to give them advice? They're dumb friends? No, that's a terrible idea.

I think that building that trust starts really young. Think very carefully before you respond to things. Because how you respond will set
