All right. We're back on the podcast. We're in person. And welcome back to the podcast, boss man.

0:18.7

Yo. So what I want to do is follow up on a listener request this week and share some of what we're thinking about, the highs, the lows from the past 12 months, some stuff that's come up in our business.

0:28.0

And we'll share some sort of news and insights and stuff that we've been thinking about, what's coming up in the next few months.

0:34.0

First, I want to start with this question that was inspired by last week's podcast,

0:39.8

which is simply this. Can you break through a growth plateau for less than 200k a year?

0:45.5

So this is the challenge. I like it. It's an open question. So I'm sitting here racking my mind.

0:51.3

Have we ever seen this? Or is this just a trap that founders who've gone from

0:56.7

zero to one, they've started their company, they got a team that they fall into. And I think the

1:01.8

answer is, yeah, it's basically a trap. Now, the crazy thing about being a founder is there's more

1:07.4

traps, because you can also get into the trap of hiring the quarter million

1:11.3

dollar person and then you got to cross your arms for six months. They've got no risk. You're

1:15.7

taking on all the risk. Yeah. And hope that the strategy they're bringing in from somewhere else

1:19.4

is going to work great for your company. Doesn't often play out that well either. But there are

1:24.0

some things that work out better. Last year at DCBKK, I made a talk called, where are you going to get your next million

1:31.0

dollars in revenue?

1:31.8

Something that we did.

1:32.6

We broke through a plateau.

1:34.4

And I didn't go up there and talk about all the growth experiments that we ran.

1:39.7

I went up there and talked about getting your operation on rails.

1:45.5

The number one answer I'll stop bearing the lead is that the next growth plateau is going

1:50.4

to come from the founder.

1:52.3

So if that's the case, then we need to remove the blocks from founders being able to take

...
