Summary

"In my mind, I’m not going anywhere anytime soon."

It's been a whirlwind week. THANK YOU for all of the love, support, and kindness after last week's "we're due for a catch-up" episode. It's been an overwhelming time for me — but what about for my support squad? I get so many questions from people asking how best to show up for someone going through a hard time, and my team and I have learned a lot about what this can all look like. So for this one, Cousin Jackie returns, and we're talking about what the past few weeks have been like for each of us: the patient and the support person.

0:41.6

I still don't have the words for it, but ever since I shared the news of my new cancer diagnosis

last Friday, there has been the most insane outpouring of love, support, generosity, kindness.

I don't think I will ever catch up on reading

0:55.9

and responding to messages, which I hate. It's stressing me out. I want to see it all and I want to

0:59.8

read it all and I want to let you know how much it all means to me. Every single message means so

much. So thank you for being in this community and for being in my corner and for the goodwill that

1:10.1

you are extending not just to me but to my family, to my friends, to my loved ones. I know I speak on behalf of my

entire village when I say thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Now, let me be very clear.

This is still the Allie on the Run show. This is not Allie's Cancer Journey show.

I am still me.

But today, I am bringing back Cousin Jackie to talk about being my support person for what we're calling chemo 2.0 round one.

1:44.1

This was a big emotional week and we learned a lot.

1:48.3

I get a lot of questions from people who have a loved one going through a tough time and they want

1:52.6

to know how to support that person. It doesn't have to be cancer. It can be anything and how amazing

1:57.6

that you want to show up for your people however you can. So I thought it could be helpful to hear directly from that support person who's been there for me.
