the inquiry sits. Today, the inquiry heard from two witnesses.

Schenern-Madgett stayed in his flat on the 16th floor until after 3.30.

There was cracking sounds off my windows.

I saw that my curtains was on fire.

I saw there was paint melting and dripping from the ceiling.

In that two seconds, that's what I saw.

And my curtains was on fire.

My bed was on fire. My wardrobe was on fire my bed was on fire my wardrobe was on fire

shenar madgett lived in flat 133 it had been his home since 1992 and he raised his three children there

but in June 2017 he lived there with his wife Hanifa on the night of the fire shenar madgett stayed up

late in the early hours of the

morning, his wife received a phone call from her sister, who lived nearby, saying there was a fire

in their building. Around 110, he looked out of the window. Counsel to the inquiry, Bilal Rawat,

asked him questions. You hadn't seen anything from the window.

You'd gone back to watching television.

What was it that made you decide to go out into the communal area?

Just to check if there was any commotion or if there was any noise or if there was any smell,

just curious to say, why are these firemen there?

The lobby was empty.

There were no signs of smoke or fire.
