One of the interesting outcomes of having done the History of the Great War podcast before this

one is that it has given me a chance to do research on the events before the First World War,

and then now the events before the second.

There are many things that are very different between those two time periods,

but there are also some points that allow for some really interesting comparisons.

In my mind, one of these is the comparison of the plans and preparations of the French army

before the two World Wars, where the experience of the plans and preparations of the French army before the two

World Wars, where the experience of the First World War and the French mindset before

1914 caused a complete change and a move in the opposite direction before 1940.
