Welcome back everybody to The Incomparable. I'm your host, Jason Snell, and we are here to discuss an HBO TV series that is the third in the Game of Thrones franchise.

Wait, wait, wait.

Don't leave if you're frustrated about Game of Thrones.

Because this is not like the others.

This is a Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which just finished its first season.

First delightful, six, 30-minute-ish episode season.

And we're going to talk about it. So very different than your houses of dragons and the like.

Hello. Hi. I thought this was going to be a cooking show, but it's fine anyway. Yeah. I mean, there is an egg. John Syracuse is here. Which one of us has to do something gross at the start of this podcast? It's probably John Mould's. Hi, John. I was really surprised when Chumba Wamba started playing toward the end of the fifth episode. You never know what you're going to get. Seems off-brand.

With the Night of the Seven Kingdoms. So I read these. I don't know if anybody else has read these,

but I read the Dunkin Egg novellas that George R. Martin wrote.

And I always thought they were delightful because they're sort of like he's taking his universe that he built in the Game of Thrones series of novels, the Song of Ice and Fire novels, as yet uncompleted.

By the way, just I'll mention that now.

But he wrote these fun

novellas about this tall not hedge knight and his squire egg the duncan egg novellas and i i for years

i didn't read them and then i finally discovered that no that people like them and there are

several of them and they are delightful and so when i heard that no, that people like them, and there are several of them,

and they are delightful. And so when I heard that they were going to try to do a Dunkin' Egg TV show, I thought, oh, that might really work, you know, and kind of cross my fingers. And I'm happy
