Last time your host, John Delin, it is October 10, 2017. And as always, I am very excited to have our guest with us today.

For those of you who have been following us, you'll know that we've been doing a little series on addiction, kind of within a Mormon context.

And so for those who have been following again, we interviewed a wonderful young man named Thomas about his opiate addiction as a married Mormon.

He's still remaining active in the church at this point. We talked about his experiences. Then we talked to Graham, another wonderful courageous young man who talked about his opiate addiction.

Both of those gentlemen started with, let's just say prescription opiate medication and then moved to heroin at some point, really appreciated those two interviews.

And then we also interviewed Kyrsten and David Udy. David became addicted to alcohol after his faith crisis and transition.

That interview was about mixed faith marriages, but also about alcoholism. And again, I just love talking to Kyrsten and David. That was really powerful.

And during, during those interviews, I was just really fortunate to have Dr. Dan Lonergan reach out. And without giving too much away, Dr. Dan Lonergan is an expert in addiction.

He's an anesthesiologist. He works in conjunction with Vanderbilt Medical Center, which is as far as I'm concerned, a top notch medical institution to be involved with.

He specializes in pain management and addiction. He's also been through his own faith crisis and transition. He's currently in what he would describe as a mixed faith marriage of sorts.

And so the interview is going to be basically two parts. Part one is going to be Dan talking about his own journey. So for those of you who are always interested in the faith crisis topic, many of you have said, can we just have more just normal people talk about their faith transition?

The first part of this interview is going to address that need. Unless, of course, Dan, you're going to describe yourself as extraordinary.

The second part of the interview is going to be talking specifically about Dan's experiences as an expert in pain management and on addiction.
