Oh, uh-hmm. You're listening to sound opinions and this week we've got some under the radar new

music you need to hear. I'm Jim De Regattis. And I'm Greg Kot. Later in the show we'll talk with the

head of the South by Southwest Music Festival about going virtual. But first, buried treasures.

This is one of our favorite segments on the show Jim. We're

doing it more frequently I would say because there's just so much darn music out

there that we can't get to all the time. Well and you know talking about South by Southwest later we used to

travel to Austin for some two and a half decades every year to the the club

crawls down six street and Red River and see these bands that would make a huge impact on us that we would share

and that people would get to see by the summer festivals, right? None of that this year, but plenty

to listen to nonetheless. I guess I get to go first this

time Mr. Cot and I'm excited to get to my treasures. I'm going to start out with a

band called Silver Synthetic that came together in New Orleans in the summer of 2017 with

veterans of several other bands garage rock bands around New Orleans the bottom

feeders and Jeff the Brotherhood.

Chris Lyons, a leader of the group,

had been playing with the bottom feeders drummer,

Lucas Boggner, since both of them were 15

and you can hear the tightness that they have.

You know it's a group that really comes together and sinks up as it's playing a sort of
