Summary

A solo episode with Em on feeling all the things, gratitude, and books we are loving. [2:56] Supporting other women & Mary Magdalen "Love yourself, others, and every situation no matter what the outward appearances may be. I'm not what most people think, yet defend myself would be to sink to a lower level than I feel comfortable with. I am one with the divine, just as you are, and it is here that I choose to reside. The lower levels of human bickering, judgement, and chaos are just that - lower levels." [8:00] From the Many Moons books, 16 ways to get unstuck "I learn by doing. I learn by doing. I learn by doing. I learn by doing. I'm doing it." "Time is a spiral, not a line. I honor my current cycle of... fill in the blank." " Do some things that are invisible to everyone but you every day for weeks. Notice if there are any shifts in any ways as a result of these actions." [13:24] Girls Inc. and #theprettyconversation 80% of 10-year-old girls have been on a diet. 53% of teen girls are unhappy with their bodies. 90% of eating disorders are found in girls. 74% of girls say they are under pressure to please everyone. 38%of young girls feel they aren't pretty enough. 87% of teen girls think women are judged on looks over ability. Hi, everybody. It's Meathead Hippie podcast. We're doing things a little differently. I'm your host, Emily Schramm, and it's Thanksgiving week. I have an incredible guest for next week, Morgan King, who is this badass Olympic weightlifter. I just can't wait to interview her. We're going to talk about all the things lifting and snatching and cleaning and jerking. But this week, I just felt, one, just with

0:23.2

the holidays and two, there's like a lot of shit happening in the moon. So whether you believe

0:29.4

in it or not, if people in your life have felt a little crazy or you're crazy, you're not

0:34.9

alone. And I have just gone through some soul searching deep things. And so this

0:40.0

podcast really is just me talking about a little bit of the word vomit, but just stuff that's

0:45.5

heavy on my heart, processes that I've gone through this week. Even though it's subtle and simple,

0:51.1

I feel like there's so much that I want to talk about because I'm going

0:54.9

through some shit and not the bad shit, just things. And when I talk about the things that I'm

0:59.6

going through, I know it hits home for somebody out there and I just feel like I need to say this.

1:05.9

And I think, you know, no matter what stage we are in our life, there's tools. And so this is really

1:10.8

kind of actually,

1:11.7

like, you know how Oprah has her favorite things. It's Emily's favorite things. I have, I wish, I'm actually going to take a picture of this. I'm right next to my sauna with my tarot cards, with this book I'm going to talk about, with my moon book, with my journal, my phone. I just, My mind has been on fire because it's when you feel the things, when you're

1:30.0

like going through the ick. It is just so important to understand that sitting in it and processing

1:36.0

it and diagnosing it is the best way to growth, even though it feels awful at the time. And I've

1:42.0

been somebody that's ran away from anything that felt

1:44.1

constricted or anything that felt icky my whole life. And so being able to sit in it and process

1:50.1

it has brought out so much good. And when I think of just my life in general and it's Thanksgiving

1:56.6

and I turn 30 next month and this whole, I don't know, this whole life thing, I'm just so

2:01.3

incredibly grateful because I am able, this podcast specifically is one of my favorite tools that I

2:08.2

have. It's my favorite tool for my own growth. It's just talking about really cool things with

2:13.7

really great people and then also being able to connect with you guys on your drive while

2:18.2

you're drinking coffee while you're cleaning while you're washing dishes when you guys tag me in
